去年12月，澳大利亚内容创作者萨姆·韦登霍夫就为一位88岁的密歇根州退役军人筹得超过170万美元。

该老人向观众讲述了自己在杂货店打工维持生计的视频在网上走红。

视频博主韦登霍夫在视频中征得老人的同意后，引导网友通过GoFundMe进行捐款，并在不到36小时内筹得超过100万美元。

I think both have done the right things. One tried to help others by GoFundMe instead of asking governments to pass laws to spend tax-dollars. Another tried to help his family by working after retirement instead of asking help from governments. Both are responsible citizens. There are lots of people in our society who are happy to help others with actions and funds. They help those who are really in need. We do not want to push laws which can help one but can also hurt others.

[辛.香.氏.说],去GoFundMe，捐个Toony，胜过在此英文灌水。一件好事过你嘴，都变的不那么好。被“吹上天”的你，连基本用词都不会。比如，买649没中，别人会说，“Nice try”。你用“tried”，让说英语的认为，主语的“One”放弃了。本来值得本赞赏的，变成“就那么回事”。还有主语的“One”，难道乐于助人那么“稀缺”？汉语“字斟句酌”，四海皆准。
