東非國家蘇丹西部馬拉山脈（Marra Mountains）8月31日發生山崩，導致一座村莊被夷為平地，全村上千人罹難，只有1人幸存。

路透2日報導，蘇丹叛軍“蘇丹解放運動/軍”（The Sudan Liberation Movement/Army）1日表示，連日大雨後，蘇丹西部馬拉山脈8月31日遭逢山崩，當地一座村莊“完全被夷為平地”，至少1000人喪命，僅1人存活。

該組織向聯合國及國際援助組織求援，協助尋找罹難者遺體。

2023年蘇丹政府軍與准軍事組織“快速支援部隊”（Rapid Support Forces）在西部的北達佛州（North Darfur）爆發內戰，當地居民為逃離戰亂，南下躲進食物及醫療用品皆匱乏的馬拉山脈避難，這場持續2年的內戰導致數百萬人流離失所。

目前網絡上已開始流傳當地山崩畫面，尚無法確認視頻及照片真實性。
