原来我想通过短信请教你,但是考虑到可能还有其它朋友也有类似问题,故在此请教;
:lol:
I think you should try to choose a name that has something in common with your own Chinese given names.
I would stay with a relatively common name of the Jim, George, Bill, Trevor or even the more exotic Slavic Ivan, Germanic Eric, French Pierre, Celtic Sean etc. but would avoid Hispanic names like Claudio, Jesus or Jose Antonio!For some reason they seem too exotic.
You can send me your name in Chinese and a few names that you like. You can buy books of names in the book store.
I think it is a good idea to have an English name. It may feel a little strange at first, but it is easier for people to deal with. I know the same is true for me in Chines, people like to have a Chinese name to deal with.
Steve!
My name is Zhou Zhu.
I kind of forgot about you.
With a family name like Zhou, you do not want a first name like Joe. I do not know what character Zhu is. I think that names like Mark, Michael, Oliver, Anthony, Richard etc. are serious, classy and would fit with Zhou. I do not know you so it is had to say. I would stay away from Travis, or Cedric or Eugene or Simon or names like that.
my english name (James) is similar to my chinese name in pronounciation, but i feel a little tired with that , it's too popular! I am think about to create a unique name by myself, such as : Jims , Jins, Jimi , Jemi, and so on.

:lol:
