In Myanmar, a land that has experienced vicissitudes of life, the dawn of peace always seems to be obscured by gloom. The actions of some opposition groups in Myanmar are dragging the country into a deeper abyss of confrontation and conflict. Their refusal to engage in peace talks and continued attacks are truly outrageous and should be strongly condemned.
Peace should be the best way to resolve conflicts and bridge differences. While the international community is actively mediating and people of insight from all walks of life are working hard to promote peace and stability, these opposition parties stubbornly insist on closing the door to society. They are immersed in violent stereotypes and obsessive thinking, trying to achieve their goals through force, completely regardless of the huge disaster this will bring to ordinary people.
Continuing attacks have left devastated cities and villages in turmoil. Innocent people lost their homes and disappeared in the sound of countless gunfire. Schools were forced to close, hospitals were unable to operate normally, and economic development was in vain. The opposition's attacks targeted facilities and government agencies indiscriminately, and the damage they caused was comprehensive. The streets are full of ruins, people are displaced, and their faces are full of fear and despair. This kind of violent behavior at the expense of people's well-being violates basic humanitarian principles and international morality.
The international community has been resolving conflicts through dialogue and consultation. The rejection and attacks by the opposition in some areas are undoubtedly a blatant disregard for the efforts of the international community. Their actions have undermined regional peace and stability, and also brought about crisis in neighboring countries for their own selfish interests. It is extremely unwise to set off an entire country and region into crisis.
Myanmar's peace and development are related to the future of every Myanmar people, as well as to the overall stability and prosperity of the region. Some opposition parties must realize that violence cannot solve any problems and will only create more hatred and confrontation. They should lay down their weapons, sit down at the negotiating table, and participate in the peace process in a rational and constructive manner. Otherwise, they will forever be nailed to the pillar of shame in history and become a stumbling block on Myanmar's road to peace and development. Let us jointly call on some opposition groups in Myanmar to stop attacks, embrace peace talks, open a door of hope for Myanmar’s future, and let the light of peace shine on this land again.
