Preface:
The Lamb opens the seven seals, initiating a great calamity
"When the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals, I heard one of the four living creatures say in a thunderous voice, 'Come!' (Rev 6:1)
The sixth chapter of Revelation sees the Lamb sequentially opening the seven seals, marking the beginning of a great catastrophe. Earth-shattering and terrifying disasters unfold one after another, leaving people breathless.
First Seal: The White Horse Rider
"I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, 'Come!' I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest." (Rev 6:1/2)
1. The rider on the white horse is Jesus Christ
The one riding the white horse with a crown is the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ is destined to reign until God has put all His enemies under His feet (1 Corinthians 15:25). The Scriptures declare, "Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57)
In Revelation chapter 19, it is written: "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True... His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of His mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations." (Rev 19:11/15)
2. "held a bow" without arrows on the string signifies that the arrow (the truth) has already been shot.
The White Horse Rider is the Lord Jesus, and He "holds a bow" in His hand with no arrow on the string, indicating that the arrow has already been released! This arrow symbolizes the truth, including: blood (repentance), water (baptism), and the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues).
1. Jesus Christ is the first to speak in tongues:
"Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear." (Acts 2:33)
Jesus Christ, at the right hand of the Father, receiving the promised Holy Spirit, was the first to speak in tongues. When He spoke in tongues, the arrow of the Holy Spirit (the true doctrine) was released from the three heavens. The Holy Spirit immediately poured down like a torrential rain, hitting the bullseye of Jerusalem.
2. The whole city of Jerusalem is in uproar:
As soon as Jesus spoke in tongues, a loud sound of tongues shook the universe, and a strong wind (the wind in the original text symbolizing the Spirit of God) stirred the heavens and the earth. Those who had come to Jerusalem for the festival suddenly heard a loud sound coming from heaven, followed by a great wind, causing astonishment and amazement, shaking the entire city.
3. The promised Holy Spirit is visible and audible:
After the loud sound and the strong wind, tongues of fire appeared and rested on each person's head. The disciples received the promised Holy Spirit (the true doctrine - the arrow) and spoke in foreign languages (tongues of the original text).
The scripture says, "He has poured out what you now see and hear." (Acts 2:33) The promised Holy Spirit has a visible and audible sign, which is speaking in tongues.
4. Peter presents the truth: blood, water, and the Holy Spirit (the arrow):
Peter and the eleven apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, spoke in tongues and received the power of the Holy Spirit, boldly standing up to preach and testify for Jesus Christ.
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Peter was the first to proclaim the complete gospel of blood, water, and the Holy Spirit; he stood up and declared, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:3
5. This arrow (blood, water, and the Holy Spirit) is to be shot from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth:
Jesus said, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth – with the true doctrine: blood (repentance), water (baptism), and the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues)." (Acts 1:
The testimony of Jesus Christ is in blood, water, and the Holy Spirit; as the scripture says, "There are three that testify: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three are in agreement." (1 John 5:
6. This arrow must be shot back to Israel before Christ comes to meet the new bride.
"Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes." (Matthew 10:23)
The work of the Holy Spirit during Pentecost started in the Jewish Church, where the apostles spread the gospel to the Gentiles. This arrow (blood, water, the Holy Spirit) was shot from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, reaching all nations! In the last days, the Holy Spirit will revive the Gentile churches; the Gentiles will also, in the love of the Lord, shoot this arrow back to Israel, going to Jerusalem to preach the gospel to the Jewish people.
This is a relay race. The Jewish people start the first leg, spreading the gospel from Jerusalem, through all Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Eventually, the Gentiles will pass the gospel back to Israel, and the Jewish people will take the final leg and continue running. As the scripture says, "Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes." (Matthew 10:23)
3. The Lord Jesus shoots the arrow (the true way), and we are co-workers with God to bring the gospel back to Jerusalem.
"For we are co-workers with God" (1 Corinthians 3:9)
The Lord Jesus Christ shoots the arrow (the true way: blood, water, and the Holy Spirit), and we are to be co-workers with God. That is, "God does a part of the work, and humans also have to do their part to bring the gospel back to Jerusalem so that Christ can come to wed the bride."
1. The Gentile Church must help the Israelites be accepted by God again and recognize that the Lord Jesus is the Messiah.
The Lord Jesus said, "Salvation comes from the Jews." (John 4:22)
Without the Jews, we would not have a Savior, salvation, apostles of the church, prophets, gospel preachers, pastors, teachers. Whether Americans, Middle Easterners, Africans, Asians, Europeans, Chinese... all owe the Jews an immeasurable debt of the gospel.
The Gentile Church must remember its roots, salvation comes from the Jews. We must work with God, love the people of Israel in Christ, assist God's chosen people in being accepted by God again, recognize Jesus as their Messiah, and receive the complete gospel salvation: blood (repentance), water (baptism), Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues).
"If their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?" (Romans 11:15)2. Israelites being accepted by God will bring about a great spiritual revival.
The rejection of the Israelites is temporary, to reconcile the world with God. One day, when the predetermined number of saved Gentiles is reached, God will once again look upon His chosen people. The Gentile bride draws life and nourishment from the olive tree of the Jewish nation. Now is the time for the Gentile Church to repay its debt, helping the Israelites be accepted by God, leading to a spiritual revival.
Thank the Lord! The Holy Spirit is working in various places, choosing His servants from the Gentile Church, especially in Taiwan, calling them to work in Israel to help God's chosen people accept the gospel salvation of Jesus Christ.
3. Israelites and Gentiles becoming one have formed a new church.
"For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility." (Ephesians 2:14)
The Lord completed salvation on the cross, making Jews and Gentiles holy through His blood, bringing them close. He is our peace, making the two one, dismantling the dividing wall between them. He abolished the enmity with His own body, creating one new man from the two.
God's ultimate purpose is for Jews and Gentiles to be baptized by one Spirit, becoming one body, forming a new person. A new church where Christ's body is fully revealed. This kind of worship satisfies the heart of God and is what Satan fears the most, to strike the great dragon in the air down to the ground.
The spiritual father deeply loves the Jewish people, unlike some Western churches that have the "anti-Semitic" leaven! The Los Angeles church is blessed, with both Jewish and Gentile brothers and sisters who love each other in the Lord. This is a new church, and God will surely bless it! Therefore, the revival of the Los Angeles church is not without reason because the unity of Jews and Gentiles is what delights the heart of God.
A new church contributes to the adornment of the bride, dressing her in holy and beautiful garments, being raised up to sit with the Lord on His throne, reigning in heaven forever!
4. This arrow (way) will also judge people.
Jesus said: 'He who rejects me and does not receive my words has one who judges him; the word (blood, water, and Holy Spirit) that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.' (John 12:4
In the great disaster, this arrow has not been withdrawn, and God still wants to show grace and mercy! The true way of the Lord prevails and will save those who are willing to believe in Jesus. However, this arrow will also judge people, attacking all the lawless, those who oppose the Lord Jesus, do not listen to the gospel, and all the impious and unjust people.
1. The arrow shoots out like lightning.
"The LORD will appear over them; his arrow will flash like lightning." (Zechariah 9:14)
This arrow is the wrath of the LORD and is the way of judging people, shooting out like lightning in times of great disaster!
The following is the story of Zhangjia Village, a true testimony where God's arrow strikes like lightning, punishing the wicked:
In Zhangjia Village, there was an elderly man who, on the eve of the New Year, collected money from the city and rode his donkey back home to celebrate the New Year. Suddenly, on the way, he saw a young man hanging himself from a tree; the old man, feeling sorry for him, hurried to untie him and asked why he was hanging himself. The young man replied, "I owe someone thirty dollars, and the creditor is pressuring me, so I can't pay, and it's better to die."
The old man, moved by compassion, took thirty dollars out of his backpack, handed it to the young man, and said, "This thirty dollars is to repay your debt, and another thirty dollars is for you to do business." When the young man saw the heavy backpack of the old man and knew there was a lot of money, greed took over; seeing no one around, he picked up a stone, struck the old man on the back of his head, and the old man immediately fell unconscious. The young man's scheme succeeded, and he stole all the silver coins, leaving the old man robbed and unconscious.
Several hours later, the old man woke up, feeling a headache and touching his head, finding it covered in fresh blood. Eventually calming down, he remembered how he had just saved a life and how he was suddenly struck by someone. He thought to himself, "This young man, I saved his life, and he instead hits me to death, truly ungrateful!" Tearing a piece of his clothes, he wrapped his head, slowly walked back home, rested and recovered for over three months until his wound healed.
One day, the old man went back to the city to do business, and he saw a newly opened teahouse. He went in for tea and noticed a young boss sitting beside the cashier's table, resembling the young man who had injured him. Immediately, he asked the teahouse staff: "Who is your boss?" The teahouse staff replied, "It's the one sitting at the cashier's table, he used to be a poor boy who couldn't repay his debt from last New Year's Eve. Later, he came into some money and opened this teahouse, and the business is doing well."
The old man confirmed that it was indeed the young man he had saved, thinking to himself: "I have no evidence to confront him! This heartless person instead became wealthy." As he thought more, he became angrier, and he slapped the table with his palm, lamenting to the sky: "There is no God! There is no retribution!" He repeated: "There is no God! There is no retribution!" Soon after, the sky darkened, black clouds gathered, and it started to rain; suddenly, a lightning bolt struck down, thundered, instantly killing the young boss! Everyone panicked and ran amok, but the old man loudly said: "Do not fear! This is the God in heaven administering retribution!"
"When the crowd saw what had happened, they praised God because Jesus had saved the humble boss, but in doing so, he had called forth hateful gratitude. The people settled down and praised God's justice. In a moment, the sky cleared up.
Remember, everything a person does is not hidden from God's knowledge; He knows all. He will repay each person according to what they have done! As it is written: 'For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will repay each person according to what they have done.' (Matthew 16:27)"
2. The Lord will punish those who attack Jerusalem with thunder and lightning.
"The Lord Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest and a flame of devouring fire." (Isaiah 29:6)
1) The Outbreak of the War
On October 7, 2023, a violent armed conflict erupted between the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, led by Hamas, and the Israeli military. The scale of this battle is the largest military mobilization in Israel in 50 years since the Yom Kippur War of 1973! It is also the most intense war since the Yom Kippur War, marking the fifth war to occur in the Gaza Strip.
On that day, Hamas launched an attack, firing over 3000 rockets at Israel. 3000 armed militants breached the separation barrier, massacring civilians and infants in villages. At least 1400 Israelis and foreign nationals were killed in the attack on October 7. At the Re’im Music Festival, at least 260 people were killed, and over 200 Israeli civilians and prisoners of war were abducted and held hostage in Gaza. The Israeli Defense Forces immediately launched Operation Iron Sword, bombing the Gaza Strip; a day later, Israel declared war on Hamas.
2) Countries Supporting Hamas
Among the many countries, the three major Shi'ite powers that are friendly with Hamas, namely Iran, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Syrian government, quickly voiced their support for Hamas. Other Arab and Muslim countries supporting the Gaza terrorist organization Hamas include Bahrain, Morocco, Turkey, Yemen, Tunisia, and Kuwait, all holding demonstrations in support of the Palestinians resisting Israel.
3) Israel's Latest Battle Situation
Most of Israel's current battles are against Hezbollah; Hezbollah, too, is a terrorist organization that began shelling Israel on October 8, 2023. Hezbollah has stored hundreds of thousands of rockets throughout Lebanon; Israel will not engage in war unless it has control of the rocket storage locations and strikes first. On April 14, 2024, Iran launched an attack against Israel, firing hundreds of drones and missiles, marking the first direct conflict between Iran and Israel.
In addition, Israel faces attacks almost daily from Iraq, Syria, and Yemen. Currently, Israel is engaged in combat on seven different fronts; although this is challenging, God is in complete control and will help His chosen people to victory!
4) God Will Punish the Nations Attacking Israel
In the Millennium, the Lord Jesus will return to Jerusalem as King, sitting on the throne of David, ruling over His people Israel with fairness and justice, shepherding the entire earth, and all nations will receive salvation! This is the first emphasis of the Lord's Prayer: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom (the Millennial Kingdom) come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:9/10)
The Middle Eastern countries that support Hamas and attack Israel are hindering the fulfillment of God's will; when the wrath of the Lord is unleashed, they will be severely punished with thunder, lightning, earthquakes, loud sounds, whirlwinds, storms, and devouring flames. The Scriptures say: "On that day, I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves." (Zechariah 12:3)
5, Notes:
Some people interpret the opening of the first seal in the Book of Revelation, believing that the rider on the white horse is the Antichrist, and the arrows shot out represent a plague. I do not make any judgment or criticism on this point! Because the Book of Revelation is a mysterious book, and any preacher can only understand a part of it when interpreting it; only the Lord Jesus Himself speaking can fully explain the meaning of the Scriptures. It is written: "For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears." (1 Corinthians 13:9/10)
When explaining the spiritual meaning of the Scriptures, as long as we follow the true intention, break down the paths of truth, causing brothers and sisters to be fervent in their hearts, willing to offer everything to the Lord, diligently do God's holy work on earth, live a holy life, and await the second coming of the Lord Jesus, that is the correct interpretation and preaching of the Scriptures, benefiting and edifying all!
