Revelation 6: Opening of the Seven Seals
Preface:
The Lamb opens the seven seals, marking the beginning of great tribulation.
"When the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals, I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, 'Come!'" (Revelation 6:1)
In Revelation chapter 6, the Lamb sequentially opens the seven seals, initiating the unfolding of great tribulation. It is a cataclysmic and terrifying series of disasters that unfold one after another, leaving people breathless.
First Seal: The White Horse Rider
"I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, 'Come!' I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest." (Revelation 6:1-2)
1. The rider on the white horse is Jesus Christ.
The one riding the white horse, given a crown, and conquering is indeed the Lord Jesus Christ. For Christ must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet (1 Corinthians 15:25). The Scripture says, "Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57)
In Revelation 19, it is written: "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice, he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations." (Revelation 19:11-15)
2. "Holding a bow" but without arrows, indicates that the arrow (the true message) has been shot
The White Horse Rider is the Lord Jesus, He holds a bow in His hand without arrows, symbolizing that the arrow has already been released! This arrow symbolizes the true message, including: blood, water, and the Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus is the first to speak in tongues
|
"He was exalted to the right hand of God and received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit (arrow) and has poured out what you now see and hear." (Acts 2:33)
The Lord Jesus, seated at the right hand of the Father, receiving the promised Holy Spirit, was the first to speak in tongues. As soon as He spoke in tongues, from the three layers of heaven, He shot out the arrow of the Holy Spirit (the true message)! The Holy Spirit immediately poured down like a heavy rain, hitting the target of Jerusalem!
2) |
The whole city of Jerusalem was in an uproar!
|
As soon as the Lord spoke in tongues, a loud sound of tongues shook the universe, a mighty wind (wind in the original text: the Spirit of God) blew, shaking heaven and earth! The people who had come to Jerusalem for the festival suddenly heard a loud sound coming from heaven, accompanied by a great wind, causing astonishment and amazement. The whole city was in an uproar!
3) |
The promised Holy Spirit is visible and audible
|
After the loud sound and the mighty wind, tongues like flames appeared and settled on each person's head, and the disciples received the promised Holy Spirit (the true message - the arrow), speaking in different languages (original text: tongues).
The Scripture says: "He has poured out what you now see and hear." (Acts 2:33) This promised Holy Spirit has a sign that is visible and audible, which is speaking in tongues.
4) |
Peter brings out the truth: blood, water, and the Holy Spirit (the arrow)
|
Peter and the eleven apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, spoke in tongues and received the power of the Holy Spirit, boldly stood up and proclaimed, bearing witness to Jesus Christ.
Under the revelation of the Holy Spirit, Peter was the first to preach the complete gospel of blood, water, and the Holy Spirit; he stood up and declared, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins (blood: repentance), and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit: speaking in tongues)!" (Acts 2:3
5) |
This arrow (blood, water, and the Holy Spirit) is to be shot from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.
|
Jesus said, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:
The testimony of Jesus Christ is through blood, water, and the Holy Spirit; as the Scripture says: "For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three are in agreement." (1 John 5:
6) |
This arrow must be shot back to Israel for Christ to come to receive His bride.
|
"Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes." (Matthew 10:23)
The work of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost began in the Jewish church, and the apostles spread the gospel to the Gentiles; this arrow (blood, water, and the Holy Spirit) was shot from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth! In the last days, the Holy Spirit will revive the churches of the Gentiles; the Gentiles will also, in the love of the Lord, shoot this arrow back to Israel, heading to Jerusalem to preach the gospel to the Jews.
This is a relay race, with the Jewish people starting the race; the gospel goes from Jerusalem, through all Judea and Samaria, to the ends of the earth. Finally, the Gentiles will relay the gospel back to Israel, and the Jews will receive the final baton to continue the race. As the Scripture says: "Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes." (Matthew 10:23)
3. The Lord Jesus has shot the arrow (the true message), and we must work together with God.
"For we are co-workers in God’s service." (1 Corinthians 3:9)
The Lord Jesus Christ has shot the arrow (the true message: blood, water, and the Holy Spirit), and we are not to stand idly by but to work together with God. Simply put, it means, "God does His part, and we must do ours; we must work together with God to fulfill the end-time mission of God, awaiting Christ to come and receive His bride."

The Gentile church must help the Jewish people recognize Jesus as the Messiah.
|
Jesus said, "Salvation is from the Jews." (John 4:22)
Without the Jewish people, we would not have a Savior, salvation, or the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers of the church. Whether American, Middle Eastern, African, Asian, European, Chinese... all Gentiles owe the Jewish people an immeasurable spiritual debt.
The Gentile church must remember its roots, as salvation comes from the Jews. We must work together with God, love the Jewish people in Christ, assist them in being reaccepted by God, help them recognize Jesus as their Messiah, and receive the complete gospel of salvation: blood (repentance), water (baptism), and the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues).
