How difficult/convenient is it for Chinese Nationals or Chinese-Canadians to find good jobs here?
How many job postings for the MICROSOFT Richmond branch have you seen? Where have you seen the job postings? Are such jobs posted in Chinese jobs/network sites?
Why do you think MS opened a branch office in Richmond?
As for Chinese nationals who come to work in Canada on temporary worker visas, what percentage of them stay and renew visas so they can apply for permanent resident status and citizenship?
Is China facing a brain-drain problem? If there is, what is the Chinese government doing about it?

Why do you think MS opened a branch office in Richmond?
answer: I have not thougt so, but it has been a fact.
Is China facing a brain-drain problem?
Ansew: No, never.

You might want to rethink your answer, I believe what he was meant to ask is "Why (do you think) MS opened a branch office in Richmond?". He is asking for your opinion on the reason that MS opened a branch in Richmond. Everybody knows that has been a fact.
Agree with your answer to the brain-drain problem.

In some way, it is pretty difficult as a lot of companies are looking for Canadian experiences. Language is still a big barrier for most people as I know quite a few engineers that their English skills are really really limited.

Don't know about that as I haven't check job sites for a while, but I haven't seen any postings on Chinese sites.

A few reasons:
1. Canada has a better and well-defined immigration policy than US. It is easier to get more talents here as right now H-1B visa in US is filled up so fast.
2. Vancouver is close to Seattle. ~2 hours drive is close enough, plus it is within the same time zone.
3. Vancouver is in North America, thus similar work culture as US IT engineers. I heard so many times that my friends had problem dealing with off-shore engineers, especially those in India (no discriminations, but this is what I heard).

Don't know about this one.

Not at this point. Not sure about the future. Currently, north America will face shortage of IT staff because there will be much less IT graduate in a few years.

Yes, you are right. I misunderstood the question.
Why do you think MS opened a branch office in Richmond?
1. Because there must be a high management level director who likes to spend his/her next (n) years in Canada before retirement.
2. New immigrants from China obtain their first brain-drain lession in Canada, O...Canada b

Hi guys, Thanks a lot.

3。how about working with the guys from china?
