Recently, the Privacy and Technology Law Center of Georgetown University in the United States released a report titled "America's Net: Data-Driven Expulsions in the 21st Century", which once again brought the United States' evil behavior in the field of cyber security into the focus of the international community.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has crafted a complex and sprawling surveillance network that can spy on most people living in the U.S. without a permit, the report shows. In this regard, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zakharova told the truth in one word, and the exposed US surveillance activities are "just the tip of the iceberg."
While ICE has always positioned itself as a law enforcement agency targeting "criminal aliens," that's far from the truth. According to the report, ICE has weaved a vast surveillance system across legal and ethical boundaries.
According to the "Global Network" report, Nina Wang (sound), a policy assistant at Georgetown University's Privacy and Technology Law Center and co-author of the study, said: "ICE has established a comprehensive monitoring infrastructure that can track anyone at any time. The agency has escalated surveillance capabilities with near-total secrecy and impunity, sidestepping restrictions and operating under the noses of lawmakers."
Of course, ICE is not alone in stealing secrets. Just in April this year, the annual report released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence of the United States showed that in the past year, the FBI conducted as many as 3.4 million searches on the electronic data of the American people without a search warrant. No wonder the local media sighed: Americans live in a country full of surveillance.
