Quote …"In order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of containerization, Maersk Line is hosting a photo competition. We would like all to send us their photographs of "the box". Our vision is to create opportunities in global commerce, and without the container our business would look quite different. The box has been a significant catalyst in enabling global commerce on a vast scale.
We would like to see how people view the container and its role in creating opportunities in global commerce. Therefore we are hosting a competition for the best photograph of a container and the opportunities it creates.
The photographs must contain a visual reference to the container or the interpretation of creating opportunities in global commerce. Submissions are due by Monday, 29 May 2006.
First prize is a digital camera, worth approximately USD 3,500. Second and third prizes are digital cameras, worth approximately USD 1,500 each.
During the competition maerskline.com will be updated with feature articles on the anniversary and containerization in general". Unquote.
