One of Canada’s all-time favourite artists, Louis Lortie plays Chopin’s beautiful, romantic First Piano Concerto, in a concert that also features Canadian composer Dorothy Chang, and the Finlandia-like, Nordic landscapes of Sibelius’s Symphony No. 1.
Louis Lortie will perform before the intermission and it will be on a Fazioli F278 Concert Grand on loan from Showcase Pianos. During the intermission there will be a Private VIP Reception in the “President’s Lounge” where our Fazioli VIPs will be able to meet Louis Lortie. Please buy tickets through the VSO by following the instructions below, but have yourself added to our VIP list for the intermission by emailing me at manuelb@showcasepianos.com.
Pre-concert talk by Edward Top, VSO Composer-in-Residence, at 7:05pm in the Orpheum auditorium.
