Stock markets are platforms for financial games which do not mean the true values of shares. They are basically the prices of each share. Not all shareholders can cash out their shares with the current prices. Current share prices are determined by the most current transaction prices even though there is only one share as an extreme assumption. But prices will drop if all shareholders want to cash out. Most shareholders cannot get cash back if selloffs happens. It is a gambling actually.
