据《美联社》报导，当地警方与学区透露，开枪嫌犯为80来岁的老翁，他和乐队比赛没有任何关系，动机也尚不清楚，其使用的是小口径枪械，并且造成1名打击乐顾问肩膀中弹，伤者送医治疗后情况稳定。

警方表示，老翁在开枪后1分钟内就遭到压制，学区则称赞家长们勇敢地制伏了枪手，控制对方行动直到执法人员抵达为止，老翁目前已被警方带走调查。
