This is the reason and process behind learning how to write the Chinese language by a overseas Chinese.

中文很复杂, 有简体字, 繁体字。 用电脑输入打字, 还要会拼音, 用字典, 要会查部首。
Chinese is a very complex language. There are simplified Chinese characters, and traditional Chinese characters. The user must learn Ping Yin to use the computer to type the Chinese, but also know phonetics and vocabulary to identify the correct Chinese word, with the assistance of a dictionary. Breaking up the Chinese words into radicals (partial symbol) and number of strokes is also required to check the word in a Chinese dictionary.

故事中的主角天龙兄, 本来出身就是个中文字也懂不多的人。 那会拼音, 查字典, 久居加国,中文早已生锈, 为可要自作贱, 不可活, 的去学写中文写字, 一无导师, 二无书本, 天龙兄看看中文报纸便该心满意足了, 因为写中文给谁看。
The main character in the story is Longsky who know very little Chinese. He does not know how to use Ping Yin or a Chinese dictionary. After residing in Canada for a long time, his Chinese language is very rusty. Why does he want to create his own problem in learning how to write Chinese. There is no teacher or book to learn from. Longsky should be happy if he can read the Chinese Newspaper. Who will read his Chinese writing?

甲申年, 天龙兄只还记得怎样写四百个繁体中文字, 为了与中国承建商合作, 厚着脸皮, 跟中国河北省的王先生手写了一封中文信, 说明中加合作的诚意 。 王先生很感动, 愿意努力协助。 因为对方只能用中文交流工序, 天龙兄也不会中文拼音打字, 一时不知所措。
In the year of Jia shen, Longsky only remember how to write 400 Chinese words in traditional Chinese character. In view that he has to collaborate with a Chinese contractor, he struggled to write a handwritten letter to Mr. Wang in HeBei province in Chinese to explain his sincerity for a future collaboration. Longsky visited all the Chinese malls in Markham and bought a Chinese writing pad for PC and also a Chinese dictionary. Since then, he started his journey into learning Chinese. He also searched all the Chinese websites in Canada and eventually joined the westca website as a place to learn his Chinese.

In Jia Shen year, there is only one established Chinese blog website in Canada that allows one to learn Chinese. Longsky does not understand why the Chinese standard is so high from some of the bloggers. Later on, he found about one third of the bloggers are from Shandong province.

In those days, a blogger by the name Drizzle Rain really knows how to manipulate Chinese words into her descriptions. At the onset, Longsky knows very little Chinese. Matching words in his writing is a method or way for him to appreciate other blogger's writing.
