问题：好象基本都只有basemap，如果不买其它的map的话是不是基本没啥用？卖的map还有lock什么的，是不是不能...

我用的是GARMIN GPS MAP 76CS

个人认为,可以选择GARMIN公司的产品,因为它有一款地图软件canada map v4是不要lock的.

所以应该可以用在GARMIN公司的所以机器上.

不过现在好像也能在网上找到map 60cs的破解的地图

个人觉得应该先找到破解的地图,然后再买机器.

hiking当然不能用第一个了，手没办法拿，基本上用最后一个Garmin eTrex Legend 就可以了，可惜不是彩色图，Magellan® SporTrak® Colour GPS 有优势，但是贵了$80呢，就看你个人的选择了。本人喜欢garmin系列的产品。

不过第一个如果用于车载倒是真便宜啊，性能也很强啊。

至于地图，基线地图基本没用，可以从计算机上载相关地图。至于怎么找到这些地图，上edonkey找去。

和garmin etrex legend也差不多（Dimensions: 2" w x 4.4" h x 1.2" d, 5.3 oz）
为什么不能手持呢？
我挺看好这个，就是要去USA买太麻烦。

第一个是横着显示的，适合平放在车子前方。如果手持，只能竖着手持，图像既不是旋转90度了？

garmin的图是通用的，但是分好几类，我有部分图，比如metroguide canada 4.0, metroguide usa, topo canad2(这是我难得买的正版软件 ）.

这款大伙儿早就讨论过，找找以前的帖子吧，好像质量有问题，被召回了。

是呀，这款要是质量和软件好点再贵点也行。最好再加上放dvd/divx的功能。 另外它的美国地图一直还没见踪影。不过hiking用的还是要单买。

Garmin Quest越看越不错，100+M存储，居然还带了USA/Canada的街道地图CD。这地图CD实在是太贵了，1/2价格还可以接受。JS啊！屏幕横着就横着吧，如果双手操作的话应该问题也不大--不过确实没有谁把它列为handheld/outdoor GPS的。麻烦的是要去美国买。

买了eTrex Legend，挺好玩，hiking足够了。车用的等等看MacVision能不能做得更好些。

hiking用和车用还是有些矛盾，分开买算了。
