I am sure that anyone with kids would have done the exact same thing....I know I would run over anything just to get away from a dangerous situation with my little boy and girl in the back seat. The bikers should be charged with attempted murder!

All laws are based on the notion that people deserve to come and go without the fear of bodily harm, which can ALWAYS lead to death. These bikers--and their simple-minded supporters--believe it's okay for go against that rule. They hijack highways, box in cars--which believe me, is an extremely threatening activity bordering on terrorism--and then they beat a man nearly to death in front of his wife and baby.
And then there's the almost abysmally stupid question one poster asked rhetorically of the SUV driver--"why did you bump the biker?" Are you INSANE? Look at the video, man--the biker noticeably and deliberately crept in front, slowed down, looked back to make SURE he bumped that driver. Then the SUV guy had enough class and decency to stop, perhaps to exchange licenses, and these cowardly bikers--these punks--began attacking him. What kind of a man need 20 guys to beat up one little guy with a wife and baby in the ca?.
Regarding the NYPD’s stance on reckless motorcycle thug, gangs.
I find Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s lapdog police commissioner Ray Kelly’s stance on reckless motorcycle gangs who terrorize neighbor hoods and other motorist sickening. Here you have a police commissioner who has used his police officers to violate the rights of hundreds of thousands of innocent Black and Hispanics in New York City year after year by obligating police officers to make unwarranted Stops & Frisk. Commissioner Ray Kelly has no problem using his police officers to trample the same U.S. Constitution that police officers are supposed to protect. However, when it comes to reckless thugs who speed through red lights, drive on the wrong side of the road, drive on the sidewalk, assault motorist and simply terrorize neighborhoods, you do nothing. How is it that a police commissioner gives these thugs a green light to violate all of the rules of the road? I am well aware of the NYPD’s policy on “vehicle pursuit’s” however, for you to turn a blind eye on these thugs is unacceptable. Sadly, citizens who double park for twenty seconds to drop off a child at school they receive a $115.00 ticket. As I watched the sickening videos of these wild men I noticed that many of them looked to be Hispanic. Well Commissioner, here you have a perfect opportunity to bolster your “stop & Frisk” numbers. Stop them all, make believe that they are all blacks and Hispanics; even the few who you cannot identify like the few who were wearing helmets. Commissioner Kelly, your ideas and policies on this issue are like you, old and ineffective. I wait for the day when Bill De Blassio becomes mayor and he throws you into the trash like a soiled diaper.

Mr. Lien the driver of the Range Rover is 110% correct. Any normal human being would do anything and everything to keep his/her family safe.

Bikers knew the car was coming and did not move to the side of the road to allow them to go by. Common courtesy would be move to the side and let the vehicle go by and for their own safety too.

The NYPD was never there when I was attacked September 13, 2007 in Washington Heights. I ended up with bite marks and scratches all over my arms and hands. The 4 attackers got away despite being filmed in a surveillance camera where I was attacked. It took the cops 15 minutes to arrive and the precinct was right there! Apparently, the black undercover cop was around the corner but didn't come in time either. Where the HELL were they this time when the driver and family was attacked by a mob?
Bikers need to follow and obey rules. So many complain about getting hit and injured, when they don't even follow road rules and cause issues for car drivers. They are NOT above the law, so they need to follow the law! They need to start signalling, and NOT cut cars off, or they get injured and should not be charging other people for their stupidity.
I am so angry right now. I think the driver did the right thing and protected his family. I think all the bikers involved need to be arrested. I pity the biker who was injured, but the driver should NOT be charged if that injured one was guilty of being a menace and causing harm to the family and driver.

The main point is that the motorcycles should have not been in front of the car when it was stopped. It is one thing to have a rational verbal transaction about an incident and another to physically trap him in. If the motorcycles did not surround him, he could have fled and no one was injured. The motorcyclist could then have called the cops if they felt the driver of the SUV performed a hit and run.
