About Jane Shin
Dr. Jane Shin was born in South Korea and immigrated to Canada when she was 11 years old. She quickly adapted to her new environment and proudly became a Canadian citizen. Jane currently studies, works and lives in Burnaby.
Educated in genetics and cell biology, Jane went on to receive her Medical Doctorate in 2007 at the Spartan Health Sciences University in St. Lucia. She trained at University of Edinburgh in Scotland, Dalhousie University in Halifax, and John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in United States, as part of her comprehensive medical education. Her research work has been published in academic journals. Because of her research, education, professional and entrepreneurial experience, Dr. Shin has been invited to speak on a number of topics across North America. Jane continues to exercise her passion for education by teaching students in the health care sector at British Columbia Institute of Technology and Vancouver Community College.
Jane believes in the importance of giving back to the community and has enjoyed volunteering with a number of non-profit organizations since age 13, including the Red Cross, Green Peace, and many others. Jane has received distinguished awards from both news media and local government for her contributions.
Dr. Shin spends her leisure time with her family and being active through yoga and swimming. She is also artistically inclined and is an avid writer. Whenever she can, Jane frequently explores the lakes and rivers of British Columbia as a hobby angler, and travels the world as an avid people studier.
Ms. Shin saying "chinkasauruses" as 21 years-old is no biggy, I would be more concerned with the NDP candidates alleged credentials.
