We live in East Langley - Aldergrove which is more rural and closer to Abbotsford than Langley....just.
We have 2 kids and love the area, there is plenty to do here but I agree the commute into Vancouver every day might prove a challenge for you. The main highway is only a dual carriageway and if anyone breaks down or there is an accident....it comes to a standstill. I once sat 2 1/2 hours from Langley to Coquitlam all because of a stalled vehicle. Usually once you pass the Port Mann Bridge the traffic is less congested. House Prices here are levelling off a bit. We had to move further out to get more house for our money. If you wnat any more details on finances and typical household outgoings on your wage (which is similar to my OHs) then feel free to PM me.
All in all - I like Langley - 45 mins to the mountains and Vancouver in one direction....(on a good day) and 45 mins to some fantastic beaches in the other.
This was repasted directly from a English forum. and I think if we just go for some helpful information there, part of English articles may helps much more. When we mention about Chinese activities there, Chinese would definitely be the more frequent choice. Further more, as we are not good in English, more practice (Even with a lot errors) still helps on our English skills.
I planned to keep some good English information in some English posts and mostly others in Chinese(Maybe some even in Cantoness). If it's not a good way, I may put all English posts into a English Learning folder.
As far as I can feel, living in Langley, We may need much more English to enjoy the neighbourhood with others than many other places like Burnaby, Richmond, and even Vancouver.
