Some minor changes will be made but Burnaby School Board has passed a controversial anti-homophobia policy.
Debate over Policy 545 has brought out a number of viewpoints but the vote by the Burnaby School Board in favour of it was unanimous.
Something that makes activist Kaitlin Burnett thrilled, "I think that sends a really, really strong message that Burnaby and the Burnaby School Board supports our youth, supports human rights and that's a message we want to be sending to Burnaby students."
Burnett says next, she'd like to see a province-wide policy on sexual orientation and gender identity for all public schools in BC.
