快到大路，
马路中央，
有一被车压了的松鼠。

闺女就问，
Daddy, why the squirrel got hurt?
答，must have been crashed by a car.
再问，why was it crashed by the car?
我想，
给闺女上一堂，
交通安全课。

答，
That's because the squirrel didn't
follow the traffic rules。
When you cross a street，
you need to look left first then
look right to make sure no cars
are coming.
I guess the poor squirrel didn't look first.

问答间，
到了十字路口，
我右转，
交通灯刚变红灯。

减速，
犹豫，
看看没有traffic，
没停就转了。

不知从哪里钻出一辆警车，
灯亮，
Pull over，
活擒。

When you turn right at red light，
you need to come to a complete stop, scan the intersection, and proceed when it's safe to do so.

I guess the poor driver didn't stop first.

加州的规矩一般是不当场告知罚款金额，要等法院给你寄信，通知你某天开庭，上庭再告知罚款金额和其他处罚措施，目的就是让你来回折腾，在罚金基础上加上来回的差旅费，误工费等等损失，加深教训
