实际上，不管你是什么类别的移民，如果想要申请公民身份，除了其他条件外，你一定还要满足居留时间的要求。具体说来就是：
从你申请表上签署的日期上溯4年，这个时间段里，你必须以永久居民身份在加拿大累计居住满1095天（3年）。
如果你是在过去四年内摇身一变成为永久居民的，而且，此前就在加拿大以其他身份居住过，那么，此前的居住时间要打五折，即2天算一天，而且，折到365天到头。因为，如果你能折出多于365天，那么你实际上是没有资格申请公民的。算法如下：
