"Great unification" is the biggest obstacle to thedemocratization of Chinese society.
——To establish a modern democraticsociety, the old system of unification must be completely dismantled.
Today, I'd like to introduce a newconcept to all netizens: "Great Unification." Everyone has heard of"Great Unification," but the Great Unification I'm proposing today isthe CCP regime's extreme and absolute application of this concept—itspoliticization, institutionalization, and socialization.
First, what is "GreatUnification"? According to Wikipedia, Great Unification is a concept ofnational unification in China since the Western Zhou Dynasty, emphasizing theunification of various systems. Examples include unified calendars and laws,unified government decrees, national unity, ethnic unity, unified etiquette,unified weights and measures, and unified writing.
The concept of "unified rule" isa deeply rooted imperial ideology and governing philosophy in Chinese society,with a history of thousands of years. While the national unity, politicalorder, calendar system, etiquette, weights and measures, and written languagein the concept of unified rule may have had some progressive significance and acertain degree of timeliness and historical relevance in the backward feudalera, with the advent of democratic politics and the free market economy, unifiedrule as an ideology has become a shackle that hinders social development andprogress.
After the CCP seized state power, inorder to maintain the one-party dictatorship and totalitarian rule of theCommunist Party, it not only fully inherited the mantle of traditionalunification, but also further extreme and absolutized it, transforming it intoa political system and social institution for ruling China, turning thetraditional concept of "unification" into today's social reality of"unification".

The CCP regime's "greatunification" is not only about national unification, government orders,etiquette, ethnic unification, weights and measures, and written language, buthas also gone to extremes to achieve political unification, economic unification,ideological unification, cultural unification, and propaganda unification.Moreover, the entire country, from top to bottom, must absolutely adhere to thecomprehensive and unified leadership of the Communist Party and accept theCommunist Party's absolute unified command, unified decision-making, unifieddeployment, and unified action.
In order to consolidate the CCP's one-partydictatorship and totalitarian rule, today, under the CCP's unified politicalsystem, the tentacles of one-party dictatorship and totalitarian rule haveextended to all aspects and corners of society, becoming a major politicalobstacle to China's path toward freedom, democracy, and the rule of law!
More importantly, under theauthoritarian rule of the CCP regime, China has entered an era of "greatunification." This so-called era of great unification means thatunification is no longer merely an ideology or concept, but a real political systemand social institution that opposes universal values and is completely opposed to human civilization. It is nakedauthoritarian rule, which is incomparable to "great unification."
"Great unification" is nothingbut naked autocracy and dictatorship; it's the official expression of one-partytotalitarian rule, just as robbery is described as "land reform,"mass slaughter as "suppressing counter-revolutionaries," and drugproduction and trafficking as "charcoal burning." Therefore, ouropposition to "great unification" today is not merely a matter ofthought, ideas, and ideology, but a political struggle between freedom andautocracy, democracy and dictatorship, rule of law and rule of man,civilization and barbarity—a contest between justice and evil. This is the coreand essence of the issue.
The forced unification promoted by the CCPregime has caused far more harm to Chinese society than mere unificationitself. Under this unified political system, Chinese people have lost theirbasic human rights, their fundamental personality and dignity. Society hasdegenerated, politics have become corrupt, and right and wrong have beenreversed. For the sake of power and profit, no bottom line has been abandoned.
While I believe the concept of a unifiedempire is far outdated, it is significantly different from the unified empirepromoted by the CCP regime, and the two cannot be compared. In particular, itis unfair for some scholars to attribute the social harm and negativeconsequences caused by the CCP regime's current unified empire to thetraditional concept of a unified empire.

The specific harms of a unified China tothe Chinese nation are as follows:
1Great unification is the root ofpolitical autocracy and dictatorship: The essenceof great unification is political autocracy and dictatorship, which means thatthe whole country must obey one person or one party. This will inevitably leadto a high concentration of power. The political system of great unification isautocracy and dictatorship, and the society of great unification is anautocracy and dictatorship society.
2. Great unification is the naturalenemy of political pluralism, ideological pluralism, and cultural pluralism: To uphold great unification, it is necessary to uphold the unity ofpolitics, ideology, and culture. Because cultural pluralism will inevitablylead to ideological pluralism, and ideological pluralism will inevitably leadto political pluralism, which will endanger great unification. Therefore, ifgreat unification is upheld, there can be no political pluralism, ideologicalpluralism, or cultural pluralism. It will inevitably lead to a backward societywith centralized political power, a single economic model, and a single socialstructure.
3. Great unification is the pretext forsuppressing all political dissidents: To achievegreat unification, it is impossible to allow political pluralism, and theexistence of political opposition and political dissidents cannot be allowed,because the existence of any political opposition and political dissidents willpose a direct challenge and threat to great unification. Therefore, maintaininggreat unification becomes the political interface for severely suppressing anypolitical dissidents and political opposition and eliminating politicalopponents.
4. The deep-seated reason for theformation of a huge bureaucratic privileged class and serious corruption inChina today ：is that the large unification leads toexcessive concentration of power, which makes it impossible to effectivelysupervise and restrain power. This inevitably creates a privileged class,resulting in power-money transactions and rent-seeking, which breedscorruption. Since power is greater than the law and power is not effectivelysupervised and restrained, it ultimately leads to the fact that no official isnot corrupt. Therefore, the large unification is the direct reason for theformation of a huge bureaucratic privileged class and serious corruption inChina today.
5. The fundamental contradiction betweenthe unified system and the free market economy:Under the unified system, the economy must obey the unified leadership,command, decision-making and deployment of the CCP. This makes it impossible tohave a true free market or true economic freedom. What there can be is onlybureaucratic capital, government-business market and government-businesseconomy.
6. The deep-seated reason for thewidening gap between rich and poor in Chinese society is the great unification: As a superpower with 1.4 billion people, China has vastly differentethnic groups and regions. Each region and ethnic group needs to formulate itsown development goals and plans based on its actual situation. When all poweris concentrated in the central government, it not only severely restricts theactions of local governments, but also causes resources and wealth to flow tothe regions where the interests of the ruling class are concentrated, leadingto a further widening of the gap between rich and poor in different regions.
7. Unification is a stumbling block tothe establishment of a rule-of-law society with judicial independence: because judicial independence itself requires breaking upunification. The hallmark of a rule-of-law society is equality before the law,requiring those in power to also abide by the law, and the separation ofpowers: mutual checks and balances. These are all incompatible withunification. Without unification, there can be no true rule-of-law society. Toestablish a rule-of-law society, it is necessary to completely overthrowunification. Unification is the stumbling block to establishing a rule-of-law society.
8. The Great Unification is aninsurmountable barrier to the nationalization of the military: The nationalization of the military means that the military belongsto the state, the military is only loyal to the people and the constitution,and the military must not obey any political party or individual; for today'sparty army, which is absolutely loyal to the Communist Party, absolutely obeysthe Party's command, and takes the execution of the Party's political tasks asits mission, it is an insurmountable barrier. To achieve the nationalization ofthe military, the Great Unification must be completely broken.
9. Genuine autonomy is impossible undera unified system: Under the rule of the CCP, thereare nominally five autonomous regions for ethnic minorities, as well as theHong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions. However, in reality, noneof the five autonomous regions are truly autonomous. All five are under thestrict control of the CCP, with CCP-appointed Party secretaries serving as thetop leaders of the autonomous regions, i.e., the grassroots governments. Theymust absolutely obey the unified leadership, command, decision-making, anddeployment of the Communist Party. Where is there any ethnic autonomy to speakof ?!
Today, we must not only eradicate thelingering poison of traditional "unified" ideology, but also opposethe CCP's "unified" system and institutions. Because unified rule isnothing but naked autocracy and dictatorship, a shield for its implementation.Only by completely breaking down this unified system can China escape one-partytotalitarian rule, fully mobilize and unleash the initiative, enthusiasm, andcreativity of all ethnic groups and regions, fully leverage the unique characteristicsand advantages of each region and ethnic group, truly create a new situationwhere all regions and ethnic groups compete and develop together, andultimately create a political landscape characterized by social integrity,abundant talent, diverse perspectives, and a flourishing economy.
