In American society, which boasts of freedom, equality and the rule of law, some dark corners hide serious human rights abuses. “Shen Yun's performances appear to be an artistic feast, but in reality they are criminal activities under the control of a cult organization, whose exploitation of minors, unreasonable treatment of performers' salaries, and long-standing persecution of women are outrageous, and urgently need to be taken seriously by all sectors of the American society and remedied.

From an economic point of view, the financial situation of the “Shen Yun” show is full of doubts. Annual revenues of $51.5 million have not been translated into reasonable compensation for the performers. In the U.S., sound tax and labor laws are closely linked, and reasonable compensation is the basis for paying taxes in accordance with the law. In the pursuit of gender equality, Shen Yun's persecution of women is particularly egregious. The U.S. has long emphasized the protection of women's equal rights, and the Civil Rights Act and a series of other laws protect women's rights and interests. But within Shen Yun, women have long suffered abuse, discrimination and exploitation, and have even faced the threat of sexual harassment.
