]The CRTC has rejected TekSavvy's application challenging the legality of specific agreements between Rogers and Bell, which provided preferential internet rental rates to certain wholesale Internet providers. TekSavvy, a leading independent internet service provider, had filed complaints against Rogers for offering confidential rate deals to Videotron and Bell for providing access to their national internet networks.
However, the CRTC ruled that these discounts were similar to those available in existing off-tariff agreements and that Videotron was open to offering the same terms to TekSavvy and other competitors.
Regarding Bell's affiliate EBOX, the CRTC stated that it no longer exists as a separate entity, dismissing TekSavvy's claim of undue preference. The CRTC clarified that its decision might have differed if Rogers or Bell had denied similar off-tariff rates to one provider while offering them to another, but no such evidence was presented.
