I just saw a message from someone posted on clubtread.com of the message borad. They went to Elfin Lake and stayed over night at cabin on the weekend. There were some complaints, Might be, they are not for us--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just wondering what is proper ettiquette when you need to let a group of non english speaking tourists know about littering? Went to Elfin despite the rain and fog.....but on the way to the Gargoyles noticed a trail of cigarette butts and ziplock baggies lining the mountain side following a line of 15 people just ahead of us. So what do you do? We had to share the shelter for the weekend and didn't want to start off on a bad foot, had already mentioned that eating crackers in bed was a bit of a no, no, since I didn't want to sleep with the mice. Later we found another 1/2 dozen butts outside the shelter. Not to mention our group of 6 cleaned up their mess after they had split. And seriously, it was GROSS! Grrrrrrr, not to be a total griper, but it has put me off staying at the shelter for good. What a shame, as it is the perfect place to take people starting out without much gear. Sorry about that, I feel much better now.
