在3月31日外交部例行記者會上，有記者提問：近期，美國等個別國家有官員將本國疫情暴發的責任“甩鍋”給中國，指責中國隱瞞實際感染數量，傳播新冠肺炎疫情的不實信息，試圖讓人們對美國處理這場危機的方式產生懷疑，還表示疫情結束後會和中國“清算”。對此，外交部發言人華春瑩做出了表態。

華春瑩：這些人試圖制造一只世界上最大的鍋甩給中國，讓中國成為最大的替罪羊。但是，這個鍋太大了，對不起，他們甩不出去的。
They are trying to shift the biggest blame of the century to China and make it the biggest scapegoat. However, such an attempt is just impossible as the blame is too heavy to be shifted. Sorry, it won't work.
華春瑩：疫情是面照妖鏡，人心善惡、品行高低盡顯其中，一覽無余。病毒不講意識形態，也不分國家種族。面對疫情，各國命運與共，污蔑攻擊、甩鍋推責都彌補不了失去的時間，唯有加強團結合作，才能夠盡快戰勝疫情。
The pandemic is in some way like a magical mirror that exposes a person's morality and character to the fullest extent. The virus knows no ideology, border or race. The destinies of all countries are closely intertwined. No one can make up for lost time by slandering others or shifting the blame. The only way to defeat the virus is through solidarity and cooperation.
