Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:
•the English or French translation;
•a certified copy of the document; and
•a translator's declaration.

Note: The declaration must include the translator's name, the original language of the translated document and a statement signed by the translator that the translation is accurate. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.

Important information. Translations by family members are not acceptable.


实在被这条要求弄昏了头。我妈的中国出入境章都是中文的，必然需要翻译了。那是说护照的复印件必须公证，然后还要有人逐个翻译那些章，然后翻译本人还必须到公证人那里宣誓吗？如果翻译人属于省一级的什么翻译协会那他/她不必宣誓称自己的翻译正确。

坛子上有模有朋友是做这个的？欧们想拜托您帮忙，酬劳按您公司公示价格。谢谢

我的理解是，出入境章的翻译不用公证，只要找个人翻，（只要不是家人），附上宣誓书签上名。如果找认可的翻译，则不用附宣誓书，大概盖上章即可。

最近做的这类翻译比较多,我们有标准的做法,完全符合移民部的要求。
简单的说:由STIBC会员提供翻译和declaration,护照复印件由法律公证人Notary public做certified copy,就可以交上去了,迄今为止还没有发生过任何问题。

因最近处理这类翻译较多,并且多次与CIC电话中心的工作人员沟通,现将一些实际情况与大家分享。

1)提交的所有非英语非法语文件都必须经过翻译,其中更新枫叶卡时护照上的出入境章就是其中之一。
2)五年内的新旧护照每页都必须复印,其中有出入境章的那些页必须由授权的有资格人士认证副本。获授权的人士名单见CIC网页。一般而言,找公证人认证副本是最直接的办法。
3)翻译部分必须由家人以外的人士来翻译,并提交声明书。如果由各省官方翻译协会的认证翻译会员翻译,其声明书则无需提交宣誓书。所谓宣誓书,即由翻译员当着公证人的面宣誓签名才有效,并不是自己起草一份名为宣誓书的东西。请注意,翻译协会有一种会员叫做Associate Member,他们并不是认证翻译员(Certified Translator)。这类会员做的翻译,其声明同样需要提交宣誓书(这点已经与CIC确认过,BC省翻译协会也就该问题提醒过会员)。
4)即使是认证翻译员也没有获授权认证文件复印副本。

有些客人来找我们补做公证,是因为被退件的情况主要出在certified copy的公证问题上,即使是省级翻译协会的认证会员也是无权公证复印件的, 钢印盖了也没用!必须由以下人士来做certified copy:

具体什么情况会接纳什么情况不会接纳,应该以CIC官方解释和具体实践为准,除此以外都只应该作为参考。也有一些幸运人士,不做翻译也不做公证,文件同样被接纳。还有一位移民顾问,本身是英语专业的,也曾经是翻译协会会员,但是后来放弃了会籍,虽然如此,她的翻译递交上去,因为质量没有问题,也同样获得CIC接纳。
