优胜美地国家公园在西面有三个入口，从北至南分别是：CA-120、CA-140和CA-41；东面只有一个入口：CA-120（冬天封路）。CA-120是夏天穿越内华达山脉的少数交通要道之一，往北要到太浩湖以北的I-80，往南要到南加州的CA-58才能穿越山脉。在公园西边，CA-120盘山而行，峰迴路转，有一岔路去Hetch-Hetchy水库；西入口120最常雪链管制，有段极为弯曲的盘山公路，路边紧邻陡峭落差的深远山间，连夏天行驶都会感觉有些惊险，甚至有惧高症者可能会怕，颇长一段最高海拔到约6,300英呎，南入口41中高，有一小段最高海拔到约6,150英呎，西南入口沿Merced River河谷最高海拔约4,000英呎最平坦的140，几乎很少雪链管制，但去之前先看国家公园网站和气象，从旧金山或洛杉矶绕Mariposa行驶140入优胜美地很巧是都约增加23英哩路程。在公园东边，CA-120穿越李氏峡谷（Lee's Canyon）的一段栈道，非常险峻，堪称一项工程创举。
CA-140沿著美熹德河而上，是这三条公路中所到达海拔最低的一条，因此若冬天参观优胜美地国家公园的话，这条路乃是最佳选择。沿著麦斯德河而上，优胜美地峡谷一开始是呈ｖ字型的，而且拐弯甚多；突然眼前阔然开朗，峡谷变宽，而且变得呈ｕ字型，这标记著过去冰川的冰舌到此为止：ｖ字型的是被液态水冲出来的峡谷，未经冰川洗礼，而ｕ字型峡谷乃经历冰川那鬼斧神工的改造，让你有如进入桃花源一般的感觉。
CA-41通往Fresno市。若要来往优胜美地国家公园和红杉与国王峡谷国家公园，这条乃必经之路。
