山火/林火

有唡种, 一种是明火.

一种是暗火.

暗火就是早前列治文 No.4 路那种, 在地下烧.

很难扑灭. 在市区有消防员, 也要好几天时间.

在BC 野外吗, 冬天好像熄灭, 春天重新再烧.

这种对森林影响最大.

Types of fires.

-- Ground fires (underground - subsurface fires) occur in deep accumulations of humus, peat and dead vegetation. These fires move slowly, and can become difficult to fully put out, or suppress. Occasionally, especially during prolonged drought, such fires can smolder all winter underground and then emerge at the surface again in spring.

-- Crown fires burn trees up their entire length to the top. These are the most intense and dangerous.

-- Surface fires burn only surface litter and duff. These are the easiest fires to put out and cause the least damage to the forest.
