南非警方今天在開普敦投擲閃光彈並噴射高壓水炮，設法平息挺以色列與挺巴勒斯坦示威者的沖突。

法新社報導，位於大西洋沿岸的開普敦下午即將為以色列和被扣押在加薩的哈瑪斯人質舉行祈禱活動時，法新社現場記者目擊到，有數百名挺巴人士前往鬧場。戴頭巾、揮舞巴勒斯坦旗幟的挺巴示威者趕走參加挺以祈禱會的民眾，撕毀他們的標語牌並占領場地。

警方出動水炮和閃光彈介入驅離示威者，之後設置路障，阻止人們進入。

南非各大城市數周來舉辦多場示威，支持巴勒斯坦與以色列的活動都有。執政「非洲民族議會」（ANC）數十年來力挺巴勒斯坦，但南非也擁有撒哈拉沙漠以南非洲最大的猶太社群，其中一些社區組織了挺以守夜和示威活動。
