you can still use the same rims. However, there is a max number of times that your tires can mount/unmount from the rim. (I think someone told me is was ~3-4 times). So, if you have a set of all-season and one set of snow tires to share the same set of rims, it can't do more than 3-4 times.
Having another set of steel rims for snow tires has another advantage, which is cheaper to change it. If you have a garage, you can jsut do it at home, instead of bring them to a tire shop. Plus changing the whole wheels is always cheaper than unmount/re-mount tires.
