How many fig trees can produce two crops in the great Vancouver area? Here, I share a story about my red fig tree. It produces red skin and red inside fruits.
This year I only got a few of the first crop (breba) on my red fig tree as last year it didn't grow well and not much shoots were developed. However it developed a lot of new shoots this summer and so many second crop fruits (main crop) on these shoots that the tree almost couldn't support them. See the photos of the tree taken July 4, August 13, and October 1, 2016. It is approximately a 4 - 5 year old tree.
The largest fruit of the first crop weighted 186g (got on August 11), and the largest one of the second crop 138g (got on October 5). The taste of the first crop was very good, larger and better than the second one. Both were from this tree, though the skin color is much darker on the second crop. As a reference, the weight of a large egg is 63g.
20 - 30 fruits of the second crop have ripened so far. We are waiting for more to come.
In Great Vancouver area, most of fig varieties wouldn't ripen main crop due to cool and short summer. It's good to have a fig tree producing large and tasteful figs, two crops in a year. This is definitely a good variety to grow in Vancouver.

Yes. It is difficult to have a good main crop in the great Vancouver area. I have seen some fig varieties, which can consistently produce the second crop. But the total produce of the second crop heavily depends on our local weather. My next target is to grow a couple of green fig trees able to produce some good main crop fruits.
