The maximum amount of funding you can receive in loans and grants as afull-time student is $320 per week ($510 per week if you have dependentchildren). There are also lifetime maximum limits of 340 weeks offunding for Canada Student Loans (400 weeks for doctoral studies) and520 weeks of funding or $50,000 for British Columbia Student Loans.
Maximum lifetime limit for student financial assistance
Thereare lifetime limits on the amount of student financial assistance youcan receive. This includes both loans and interest-free periods for eachloan. Once a lifetime limit has been reached, interest starts toaccumulate. You will also have to start paying back the loan six monthsafter you graduate or leave your studies.
Lifetime limits for Canada Student Loans vary:
Full-timestudents who received loans on or after August 1, 1995, are eligible toreceive student financial assistance for no more than 340 weeks.
Full-time students enrolled in doctoral studies are eligible to receive student financial assistance for no more than 400 weeks.
