温哥华市长Gregor Robertson和议会批准住宅开发部门将唐人街有吸毒和精神问题的流浪汉搬到Heather和59街交汇处。此计划将会给我们社区带来犯罪，吸毒和毒品针头，更重要的是给我们的孩子和老人们带来极大危险。我们的孩子(年龄3-1icon_cool.gif就在路对面的Laurier小学, Ideal Mini和Churchill中学上学，和 Marpole 日托中心.我们需要孩子们有个安全的环境，而不是和吸毒的流浪汉在一起。

COMMUNITY ADVISORY:
Mayor Gregor Robertson and city council are trying to fast track the construction of temporary modular housing for the homeless, directly across from our schools, at 59th and Heather. This is riddled with problems but most seriously it will house presently homeless people who could pose a risk to the over 2,300 children who attend Ideal Mini School, Sir Wilfrid Laurier Elementary School, Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, and close to Marpole Daycare Center. This decision has been made without proper consultation with our community. Construction is set to begin in November yet the announcement was made just last week.
While we feel that providing housing and services to the homeless is important and necessary, the city needs to be transparent and the community needs to be involved in the planning process and the selection of an appropriate sight away form our schools. The safety of our children is at stake.
If you are concerned about this, please come to the public meeting at Langara Golf Course Clubhouse from 6-8pm to voice your opposition. Also please sign our petition.
